MoniqueMessage from the President:

Our Association has deep bonds and connections to our beloved mother country, Peru. We support and identify with our fellow citizens and with the new generation of Peruvian Americans. These direct links lead us to new discoveries, new horizons and even new realizations. It is an honor to accept the Presidency and to represent the “Association of Peruvian Institutions of America and Canada”, AIPEUC.

With our unwavering commitment to Peru, we overcome time and distance and are constantly nourished by our history, our ancestors and the traditions they loved. Our countrymen and these traditions become real to us as we live them each and every day. The result of our commitment is a closer bond with Peru.

This commitment is not only manifested through our ideas and our feelings, but it becomes a fact through our monetary remittances. We have assisted in making improvements in the social and economic development of Peru. To date, we have sent close to 260 million dollars annually. This has aided our countrymen in achieving a better quality of life, and made it possible to acquire better living situations.

Many ask me, “Why belong to AIPEUC”? My answer is “Why not”?
For the last twenty three years our Association, and its member institutions, has been reuniting Peruvians outside of Peru to aid in doing enduring work, and making social and civic changes. Due to our work the Government of Peru recognizes AIPEUC as the best organized institutions contributing to the welfare of Peru. Again “Why not be a member of such an effective organization?”

We must join together with enthusiasm and strength to continue uniting our people. We must work together to build a better present and future for Peru.
We must work for progress and for the betterment of coming generations.

Very clearly, if our voices are not united, we will not have a voice at all.
I invite you to join AIPEUC and make an organized difference in your homeland.

Monique Pineda
AIPEUC, National President.
